The new EPA rules have created some special challenges for the gasoline boat manufacturers. We have addressed all these issues in one small package that does not require any major modifications to your boat design or fuel tank design. We give you an advanced electronic control with on-board-diagnostics similar to that on a vehicle.

We spent nearly 2 years and $400,000 to bring the most up to date solutions with the reliability that is expected by CMS. Extensive engineering went into the project with special robust high tech solutions never before found in the marine industry. We have received our patent pending status for the entire EPA Black Box project dated July of 2008.

EPA 40 CFR requirements.

The EPA Black Box™ v.1 is a m
arine fuel systems project made especially for major suppliers and OEM's. This new product is only available for viewing by special appointment. No one else provides the total solution like the EPA Black Box™.

Beginning on January 1, 2009 in California and on July 31, 2011 throughout the rest of the country, the diurnal emissions from gas   powered boats are being regulated. Two specific regulations are involved:

In general, boat builders are required by law to significantly reduce emissions. Automotive manufacturers have been operating under similar regulations for years. Both agencies expect this same approach will be a method boat builders will use to meet the new requirement. We can expect that the EPA will continue along this path as they did with the Automotive industry. Our engineering team here at CMS has been very involved in many of these EPA solutions for the Automotive industry and we are applying much of this technology to our new Marine fuel system solutions.
